Zaini Ujang was the fifth Vice-Chancellor of University Teknologi Malaysia, where he graduated with Bachelor of Engineering, in Chemical Engineering in 1988, and became a full professor in Environmental Engineering in 2002. Having served as the Secretary General in charge of the higher education and Secretary-General for the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water, gave him opportunities to impart his knowledge into public policy and practice. He spearheaded a team to develop Malaysia’s Green Technology Master Plan (GTMP) for 2017-2030, to innovate and manage resources strategically to ensure availability, reliability and affordability of the energy and water services, and to advance the application of green technology as well as to promote the Green Economy and Green Living.
H.E. Mohd Rafizi Ramli is the Minister of Economy effective 3rd December 2022, overseeing the nation’s medium and long-term socio-economic development planning.
Born in 1977, H.E. Mohd Rafizi Ramli holds a first-class degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Leeds University, United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Accountant, with experience at Jeffreys Henry Chartered Accountants in London, and is also a member of the ICAEW and Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
His professional career began when he was appointed as the youngest manager in PETRONAS. More recently, he founded INVOKE, a non-profit organization dedicated to building expertise in technology in the field of political, economic and social change.
He is currently the Deputy President of the People’s Justice Party (PKR) and Member of Parliament for Pandan.
Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad is Malaysia’s Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, having taken office in December 2022.
As the minister responsible for this portofolio, he continues to be responsible for championing Malaysia’s energy transition to achieve net zero emissions earliest by 2050, through bold measures such as the quota expansion for the Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP) and advocating Cross Border Electricity Sales (CBES) for green energy as a means to grow Malaysia’s renewable energy resilience.
A graduate of King’s College London, he is also the author of several books, most recently being his memoir, “Malaysian Son”.
Arifin Tasrif is the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources for the Republic of Indonesia. Prior to this role, he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan. In 2010, he was the CEO for PT Pupuk Indonesia and PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja, and had served for several years as CEO at PT Petrokimia Gresik.
Earlier in his career, he held roles of increasing responsibility for PT Rekayasa Industri, PT Pupuk Kaltim, NPK-PHONSKA: PT Petrokimia Gresik, KALTIM-4: PT Pupuk Kaltim, PERTAMINA and UNILEVER. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Institut Teknologi Bandung (Bandung Institute of Technology).
Ms Low Yen Ling is presently the Minister of State for Trade and Industry (MTI) and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY). She is also Chairperson of the Mayors’ Committee and Mayor of South West District. Her previous appointments include Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Manpower as well as Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Social and Family Development.
Ms Low began her career in the private sector with experience in financial institutions and a start-up venture. Thereafter, she joined the Singapore Economic Development Board and in her decade of service, played a key role in strengthening Singapore’s entrepreneurial landscape and professional services sector.
In 2011, she became the Chief Executive Officer of Business China, an organisation nurturing Chinese biculturalism, bilingualism and collaboration with China. With her strong bicultural and bilingual background, she spearheaded unique programmes to immerse business leaders in China and deepen young Singaporeans’ knowledge of modern China.
Drawing on her strong ties with the local business community, Ms Low is presently Advisor for the Singapore Business Federation’s SME Committee and the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Trade Association Committee.
Previously, as MTI Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ms Low led the public communications drive for the SkillsFuture movement and aligned the national learning initiative with several Industry Transformation Maps to future-proof Singapore businesses for a changing economy.
Mr. Haitham Al Ghais of Kuwait became Secretary General of OPEC on 1 August 2022.
With more than 30 years of experience in the global energy industry, Mr. Al Ghais held key managerial positions in the petroleum industry in Kuwait, as well as internationally in Beijing and London.
In addition to his role as a leading member of senior management of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), Mr. Al Ghais has represented Kuwait in multiple governing bodies at OPEC and other international institutions, such as the International Energy Forum (IEF) and the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies.
Mr. Al Ghais also played a leading role in the historic Declaration of Cooperation between OPEC and non-OPEC oil-producing Countries. In 2017, he was appointed as the first Chairman of the Joint Technical Committee (JTC) facilitating the development of the methodology of monitoring conformity to the production adjustments.
Tengku Muhammad Taufik is the President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS). He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Finance & Accounting from Strathclyde University, Glasgow, Scotland. He is a Fellow of ICAEW and a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
His areas of expertise include developing and steering key business strategies, organisational transformation, and financial and risk management. He has vast experience in strategic planning, finance, and business strategy development with a focus on the oil and gas and energy industry. He continues to advocate a just and responsible energy transition by promoting regional partnerships across multiple stakeholder groups in policy-shaping, innovation and technology.
He currently holds Board positions in PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd, PETRONAS International Corporation Ltd as well as PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation Sdn. Bhd. In addition to his responsibilities in PETRONAS, he is the Chairman of the Gentari Board of Directors, Chairman of the National Trust Fund, Exco Member of the World Business Council for Sustainability Development (WBCSD), Chairman of the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) Audit Committee, and Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) Audit Committee. He is also a Council Member of the ECERDC and NCIA, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Merdeka Award Trust.

Daniel Yergin is a highly respected authority on energy, international politics, and economics, and a Pulitzer Prize winner. He is Vice Chairman of S&P Global and Chairman of S&P’s CERAWeek conference, which CNBC has called “the Super Bowl of world energy”.
Time Magazine said, “If there is one man whose opinion matters more than any other on global energy markets, it’s Daniel Yergin.” The New York Times described Daniel Yergin as “America’s most influential energy pundit.”
Dr. Yergin’s new book The New Map: Energy, Climate and the Clash of Nations is described by NPR as “a master class on how the world works”, in The Washington Post as “a tour de force of geopolitical understanding,” and by The London Sunday Times as “a wonderful book”. It has been translated into 14 languages.
A Pulitzer Prize winner, Dr. Yergin is the author of the bestseller The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World. The Quest, which The New York Times said it is “necessary reading for C.E.O.’s, conservationists, lawmakers, generals, spies, tech geeks (and) thriller writers.” Bill Gates summed up his review of The Quest by saying, “This is a fantastic book.”
Dr. Yergin is known around the world for his book The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil Money and Power, which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize. It became a number one New York Times best seller and has been translated into 20 languages.
Of Dr. Yergin’s book Commanding Heights: The Battle for the World Economy, which has been translated into 13 languages, The Wall Street Journal said, “No one could ask for a better account of the world’s political and economic destiny since World War II.” Both The Prize and Commanding Heights were made into award- winning television documentaries for PBS and BBC, which Dr. Yergin co-produced, co-wrote, and narrated.
Dr. Yergin is a member of the board of directors of the Council on Foreign Relations and a senior trustee of the Brookings Institution. He is a member of the Energy Advisory Council of the Dallas Federal Reserve. Dr. Yergin served on the U.S. Secretary of Energy Advisory Board under four U.S. presidents.
Among his honors, the Prime Minister of India presented Dr. Yergin with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” and the U.S. Department of Energy awarded him the first “James Schlesinger Medal for Energy Security.” The University of Pennsylvania presented him with the first Carnot Prize for “distinguished contributions to energy policy.” Dr. Yergin was awarded the Gold Medal of the President of the Republic of Italy for combining “an understanding of the dynamics of the market with a broad view of the forces of geopolitics as he seeks to point the way to the positive outcomes for the world community.”
Dr. Yergin is a member of the Indian Government’s Energy Think Tank and on the advisory boards of the Columbia University Center on Global Energy Policy and of the MIT Energy Initiative.
Dr. Yergin holds a BA from Yale University and a Ph.D. from Cambridge University, where he was a Marshall Scholar.
Amin Nasser is the President & CEO of Saudi Aramco, the world’s leading integrated energy and chemicals enterprise, and the largest provider of crude oil to global markets. He is also a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
In a company career of more than four decades, Nasser has served in a number of leadership positions, including as senior vice president of Upstream. Under his leadership, the company is now building on its upstream leadership position by expanding its presence in the downstream and chemicals segments of the petroleum value chain, with significant investments and joint-venture partnerships in Saudi Arabia and international markets including in Malaysia.
Nasser is also leading Saudi Aramco’s efforts to produce cleaner energy and products through investments in promising technologies such as next-generation fuel-engine interfaces, crude oil-to-chemicals processes, and renewable energy applications; and entrepreneurial start-ups focused on cleaner energy solutions.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Nasser is a member of the International Advisory Board of the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals; the Board of Trustees of the King Abdullah University of Science & Technology; the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council (IBC); the MIT President CEO Advisory Board; and the JP Morgan International Council.
John B. Hess is Chief Executive Officer of Hess Corporation. Mr. Hess led the Fortune 500 company through a strategic transformation from an integrated oil company into a pure play E&P company. Mr. Hess previously served on the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board Quadrennial Review Task Force. He is a member of the Board of Directors of KKR & Company and the Board of Trustees at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. He is also a member of The Business Council, the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on the Executive Committee of the American Petroleum Institute. In addition, Mr. Hess serves on the Board of Directors of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and on the Board of Trustees at Mount Sinai Hospital and The Economic Club of New York.
Mr. Hess holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. A member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors at Harvard Business School, he was also Chairman of the Harvard Business School Campaign.
Mansoor Al Hamed was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Mubadala Energy in February 2021. Prior to his appointment, he held the position of Chief Growth Officer where he was responsible for all new business development and Mergers & Acquisitions activities at Mubadala Energy.
He brings with him more than 16 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry and across various disciplines of business leadership.
Mansoor joined Mubadala Energy in 2010. Before that, he worked in a highly diversified private sector business based in the UAE, gaining experience across commercial and managerial roles held in various business sectors.
Mansoor holds a BSc degree in Business Administration from the American University in Dubai, and two MSc degrees from Abu Dhabi University, and National Defence College in Abu Dhabi.

A Graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and Chief Engineer of the French Corps des Mines, Patrick Pouyanné held various positions in the French Industry Ministry and in ministerial offices from 1989 to 1996, including Environment and Industry Technical Advisor to the Prime minister from 1993 to 1995 and Chief of Staff to the information technology and space minister from 1995 to 1996.
Patrick Pouyanné joined the company TotalEnergies (ex Total) in January 1997, with positions in Angola and Qatar in 1999.
In August 2002, he was named Senior Vice President, Finance, Economics and Information Systems in Exploration & Production, then Senior Vice President, Strategy, Business Development and R&D in Exploration & Production in 2006.
In January 2012, he was appointed President, Refining & Chemicals and member of the Executive Committee.
On October 22nd, 2014, the Board of Directors appointed Patrick Pouyanné as Chief Executive Officer, and he became simultaneously President of the Executive Committee.
On May 29th, 2015, Patrick Pouyanné was appointed at the Board of Directors and on December 16th, 2015, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer.
Patrick Pouyanné is also member of the Board of Cap Gemini, Association Française des Entreprises Privées (AFEP), Institut du Monde Arabe, Ecole Polytechnique and Institut Polytechnique of Paris. Patrick Pouyanné is President of the Alliance for Education, French association against dropping out of school. Patrick Pouyanné is President of the Association Française des Entreprises pour l’Environnement.
He has been a Knight of the Legion of Honor since April 2015.
Russell Hardy is CEO of Vitol, a global energy company with revenues of $279 billion and an asset portfolio spanning power, oil and gas production, energy retail and distribution and renewables. Russell has over 30 years’ experience within the energy industry, joining Vitol in 1993 from BP. He has held a number of trading and management roles in Singapore and London and has a MEng in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London.
Takayuki Ueda is President & CEO of INPEX CORPORATION, Japan’s largest oil and gas E&P company with more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry and international affairs.
Prior to joining INPEX in 2017, Mr. Ueda was a career bureaucrat at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), where he most recently held the posts of Director-General of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy and Vice Minister for International Affairs. During his tenure, he took the lead on energy and trade negotiations with foreign governments.
In 2021, Mr. Ueda has announced INPEX’s Net Zero strategy towards 2050, and under his leadership, INPEX has accelerated the decarbonization of its core upstream business while shaping itself as an innovative pioneer of energy transformation.
Mr. Ueda is a graduate of the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Law. He also holds a Master of Laws from Washington State University.
Malaysian Gas Association (MGA) is nation’s lead advocate for the natural gas industry, playing a prominent role in promoting engagement, discourse and dialogue with key stakeholders to develop a vibrant and sustainable gas industry, to fuel Malaysia’s socio-economic growth and ensuring pragmatic energy transition towards a low carbon economy.
As President of MGA, Abdul Aziz brings over 35 years of extensive experience and knowledge across the energy sector, particular in the gas industry.
Given his extensive exposure and knowledge, Abdul Aziz has been appointed as the International Gas Union’s Regional Coordinator for South & Southeast Asia to strengthen the region’s position in the global gas industry.
He is currently the Senior Vice President of Gas & Power, PETRONAS and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Offer of PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB). He is also a Non-Independent Executive Director at PGB, in addition to directorship in several other companies in PETRONAS.
He started his career in PETRONAS as an engineer at the Peninsular Gas Utilisation Project (PGU), the 2,623km gas transmission pipeline network spanning the entire Peninsular Malaysia owned and operated by PGB. He was later promoted to head the operations of the cogeneration facilities at PGB before his appointment as the Chief Executive Officer, Vinyl Chloride Malaysia Sdn Bhd. He then served as the Vice President, Strategy and New Ventures, PETRONAS Energy Canada Limited prior to his current appointment.
Aziz holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University George Washington, United States of America and has attended the INSEAD Programme at INSEAD Business School.
YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood graduated with a BTEC National Diploma in Engineering in 1991 from Coventry Technical College, followed by an Electrical Engineering Degree from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom in 1994. He was then awarded his Master of Science in Power Electronic Engineering from the University of Manitoba in Canada in 1996.
He started his early career with Tenaga Nasional Berhad Engineers Sdn. Bhd. and has more than 20 years of professional experience, having worked for both Malaysian and Australian national power utilities, independent power producers, TNSP and as a consultant for renewable energy. During his career highlights, he has held many roles such as a construction engineer, project manager, technical advisor, systems planning engineer and power system study specialist.
From October 2012 to August 2017, he was the Head of Electricity Market Operations with the Energy Commission before being assigned by the Prime Minister’s Department to be the Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Nuclear Power Corporation from 2017 to 2018. On 9 April 2018, YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of the Energy Commission. On 2 April 2019, he was appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer responsible for the overall administration and management of the functions of the Energy Commission.
He was appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Commission effective 1 August 2019.
Adif Zulkifli is the Executive Vice President and CEO of PETRONAS’ Upstream Business. Leading up to his appointment, he was the Executive Vice President and CEO of the Gas and New Energy Business, where he was responsible for the company’s Midstream Gas Assets, LNG Marketing and New Energy.
Having joined PETRONAS in 1993 as a reservoir engineer, Adif has worked in various areas in the company including reservoir engineering, strategic planning, business development and petroleum economics. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Illinois, United States.
He has also previously held the role as the Senior Vice President of Development and Production, Upstream Business overseeing Upstream development projects and operations worldwide. Prior to that, he was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, responsible for shaping and steering PETRONAS’ long term strategic direction, including leading Mergers and Acquisitions, change management and strategic industry research.
In his current role as the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS’ Upstream Business, Adif is responsible for PETRONAS’ Upstream Business strategy, operations and activities (which includes the exploration, production and development of oil and gas) of which PETRONAS presence extends across more than 20 countries globally.
As a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Adif has played leading roles within the petro-technical community in Asia Pacific and Middle East via his role as the Chairman of the SPE Asia Pacific Regional Advisory Council and serves on the international advisory committee for Offshore Technology Conference Asia (OTCA). He was previously the Vice Chair for the E&P Working Committee for the International Gas Union (IGU).
Dato’ Adnan Pawanteh is the Executive Director, Group Corporate Affairs of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad. Besides Corporate Affairs, he oversees Sustainability, Corporate Nutrition, Consumer Services and Halal Affairs for the Company. He has had the experience of working abroad in various Nestlé markets namely Australia, Turkey and the Philippines. He is passionate in the area of Manufacturing and Sustainability. He holds a MBA and a Bachelor Degree in Engineering.

Adnan Zainal Abidin has been the Chief Operating Officer of PETRONAS since February 1st, 2022. He is also the Executive Vice President (EVP) & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gas Business, a position he held since October 16th, 2019, where he continues to play a pivotal role in driving the success of PETRONAS’ gas-related ventures.
Adnan’s journey with PETRONAS began as a PETRONAS scholar, earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK. With a deep-rooted commitment to the company, he has dedicated an impressive 39 years to its growth and development. His extensive experience spans from Petrochemicals to LNG, encompassing both project management and operational roles, both within Malaysia and abroad.
Before assuming the role of Senior Vice President (SVP) of Project Delivery & Technology (PD&T) in April 2019, Adnan served as the VP of LNG Assets, where he oversaw PETRONAS’ key domestic and international LNG assets, including the PETRONAS LNG Complex (Malaysia), PETRONAS Floating LNG SATU & DUA, Gladstone LNG (Australia), Egyptian LNG (Egypt), and LNG Canada. He was the President & CEO of Pacific Northwest LNG (Canada) before October 2017.
Prior to becoming the VP of LNG Assets, Adnan was the VP of Global LNG Projects, responsible for overseeing numerous important domestic and international LNG projects at PETRONAS. He also served as the CEO of Egyptian LNG for four years and as CEO at PETRONAS Ammonia, having spent almost ten years in the petrochemical facility in various senior management roles. Adnan’s career at PETRONAS began in 1984 as a Trainee Engineer at ASEAN Bintulu Fertilizer (ABF). He also served at PETRONAS Fertilizer Kedah.
Throughout his career, Adnan has achieved remarkable milestones, including leading the completion and relocation of the world’s first floating LNG plant, PFLNG SATU, from Kumang, Sarawak to Kebabangan, Sabah. This project revolutionized the industry by enabling the monetization of stranded gas fields economically, gaining global recognition and awards. He also played a crucial role in the completion of the MLNG Train 9 project, known for being one of the fastest projects of its kind, as well as the MARLIN project, the world’s first boil-off reliquefaction project.
Currently, Adnan serves as the Chairman of PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB), MLNG Group of Companies, PETRONAS LNG Sdn. Bhd. (PLSB), and PETRONAS Canada LNG Ltd. (PCLL). Additionally, he holds directorship positions in PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. (PCSB) and PETRONAS International Corporation Ltd. (PICL).
Outside of work, Adnan is a family man, married with three children, and has a passion for culinary delights and exploring new destinations through travel.
Adzmir Abd. Rahman is an accomplished professional with a distinguished career in the energy industry. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Sabah Energy Corporation (SEC), he has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in various strategic roles within the organization.
Adzmir Abd. Rahman was a scholar of the Sabah State government and an alumnus of the University of Portsmouth, England, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons). Complementing his technical expertise, he also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, further enriching his strategic leadership capabilities.
Before joining SEC, Adzmir started his career in 1998 as an Assistant Mill Manager at Sawit Kinabalu Berhad, showcasing his early commitment to excellence. In 2000, he joined an independent power producer (IPP) as an Operation Engineer, further honing his expertise in the energy sector.
Adzmir’s journey with SEC began in 2003 when he joined as a Planning Engineer. Over the years, he rapidly progressed through the ranks, showcasing his exceptional skills and knowledge. In 2009, he assumed the position of Technical Services Manager, where he played a pivotal role in the development of Malaysia’s first Virtual Pipeline System in KKIP Sabah.
Recognizing his outstanding contributions, Adzmir was promoted to the role of Head of Business Development and Gas Trading in 2013. During this tenure, he was a key member behind the development of the first LNG facilities outside Bintulu in Sabah, solidifying SEC’s position in the industry. In 2019, he was appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, where he spearheaded the company’s renewable drive, leading the development of SEC Large Scale Solar.
Adzmir’s exceptional leadership and business acumen led to his appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of SEC in September 2022. In this prestigious role, he continues to steer the organization towards new heights of success, overseeing key initiatives, expanding the natural gas business, and acquiring strategic assets from Petronas in Sabah.

Her industry career was built on developing gas and LNG markets and delivering integrated gas and LNG projects. She led pivotal strategic projects on gas and LNG markets and renewable technologies.
She held leadership roles in Egypt and corporate roles in Strategy and Planning and Investment Appraisal. She was seconded to major organisational change programmes and led a group wide commercial excellence initiative to develop a talent pipeline.
She is a qualified Executive and Leadership Coach and is a respected FCDO Executive Leadership Coach.
Alok Sinha is a Managing Director & Global Head of Oil & Gas and Chemicals / Commodity Traders & Agribusiness within Global Industries Group. Prior to this he held the position of Head Energy & Natural Resources, Greater Asia where he was responsible for coverage of the Energy and Resources companies operating in Asia Pacific and MENA regions. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Alok was an Executive Director, Head of Energy & Resources for South and S.E Asia at ABN AMRO.
He has over 30 years of banking experience and has worked extensively with some of the key players in the Oil & Gas, Metals and Mining, Petrochemicals and Power sectors in Asia Pacific and MENA and has handled the origination and execution of transactions related to Mergers and Acquisitions advisories, Leveraged Finance, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Asset Restructuring, Project Finance and Derivatives. He is currently very actively involved in the Energy Transition discussions with the key players in the Oil & Gas sector as well as with transition technology providers.
Alok started his banking career with Bank of America in Mumbai where he worked in the Consumer and Corporate Banking businesses before moving to Chase Manhattan Bank in the Structured Trade Finance and Advisory business for South Asia based out of Mumbai and thereafter in the Asia regional office in Singapore.

Amjad worked for the Atlantic Richfield Company (‘ARCO’) from 1984 to 1998, eventually becoming president of ARCO Petroleum Ventures. In 1998, he founded and was the chief executive of Petrofac Resources International Limited which merged into Petrofac PLC in 2003. In 2010, Amjad formed EnQuest PLC, having previously been a founding non-executive chairman of Serica Energy PLC and a founding partner of Stratic Energy Corporation. Amjad was chairman of Enviromena Power SystemsLtd., the largest solar power engineering company in the MENA region, until its sale in 2017 and was British Business Ambassador for Energy from 2013 to 2015.
Amjad is also Chairman of the independent energy community for the World Economic Forum since 2016. Director of The Amjad and Suha Bseisu Foundation since 2011.
Amy Chua is the President of SLB Asia, a position she assumed in July 2020. As the President, she is responsible for the overall growth and strategic direction of the company. Andrea leads biofeedstocks and biofuels activities at Eni. He became the head of biofuels trading at Eni Trading and Shipping in 2019, with responsibility for redesigning and enlarging biofeedstocks and biofuels trading activities. In 2020 he took over the role of head of supply for Eni. Since 2021, he has been a member of the board of directors of Eni Trading and Shipping. With more than 18 years’ experience within the group, he has held roles in several countries, including as German and Austrian branch manager, head of gas and power sales in France, Italy and the Benelux, and lead originator for gas, power and emissions.
Andy O’Brien is senior vice president, Global Operations, responsible for the company’s operations in Alaska, Asia Pacific, Canada, Europe, Middle East & Africa.

He holds a Bachelor of Economics from Keio University in 1990.
Bacho Pilong is currently the Senior Vice President of Project Delivery & Technology and a member of the PETRONAS Executive Leadership Team (ELT), since August 2021. He is also a fellow of the Energy Institute UK for his contribution to the global energy transition and sustainability.
With a career spanning 30 years, his leadership across a portfolio of Project Delivery, Technology, Digital and Engineering, has contributed towards value creation, expansion into non-traditional business and net zero carbon emissions for PETRONAS. His other achievements also include steering several industry collaborations to progress the energy transition for the region.
To intensify PETRONAS’ decarbonisation efforts, Bacho has also played a key role in driving Enterprise Decarbonisation, leading to the success of the inaugural Race2Decarbonise, a global hackathon and crowdsourcing of innovative ideas for decarbonisation – the first of its kind in the world.

Concetto has a deep understanding of oil and gas operations having started his career for Eni in Audit working across the upstream, midstream and downstream divisions. He then relocated to the Hague within Agip KCO, the Operator appointed by an International Consortium of seven O&G Majors for the development of Kazakhstan offshore assets.
He has also held the positions of General Project Development Manager Egypt-Petrobel and as Development Director of Mozambique-Eni East Africa Operator for the Area 4 Rovuma Basin gas discoveries. In 2014 he was appointed as General Manager of FCP JV Eni Sontrach in charge of production and development of several gas, oil and condensates fields in Algerian regions till 2016 when he moved back to Eni Head office to run Integrated Logistic Services.
In 2017 Concetto was seconded to the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative’s (OGCI CI) investment arm to support the Net Zero Teesside Project and to accelerate the OGCI investment plan on CCUS. This required leveraging a multi-stakeholder approach including OGCI Member Companies, the UK Government, and public and academic entities active on decarbonization plans. During his time at OGCI CI, he also took on the role of Engineering Director which focused on the technical evaluation of investments across methane emissions, CCUS, Energy and Transportation efficiency.
Concetto then returned to Eni in a Logistics leadership role with a view to improving efficiencies and productivity, reducing environmental footprint, maximizing assets/resources across O&G operators and implementing decarbonization and energy transition projects.
Since 2021, Concetto has been seconded into the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) as Energy Transition Director. His accountabilities include delivering an O&G Low Carbon Program incorporating CCS, Methane Emissions Management, Energy Efficiency, Electrification and Hydrogen. IOGP has done considerable work on advocacy (scroll to bottom for position papers) for hydrogen, most recently co-ordinating the report on Hydrogen for Europe.

Dwi Soetjipto is currently the Chairman of SKK Migas, a Special Task Force that governs all upstream Oil and Gas business activities in Indonesia, since 3 December 2018.

Previously he was President Director of Indonesia National Oil Company, PT PERTAMINA (2014-2017), President Director of PT Semen Indonesia (2010-2012), President Director of PT Semen Gresik (2005-2012), and President Director of Semen Padang (2003- 2005).
With more than 160 individual and company awards at national and international levels. In the Energy industry, Dr. Soetjipto was awarded Asia’s Best CEO at the 6th Asian Excellence Award 2016 organized by Asia’s Corporate Governance Magazine.

Ernie Thrasher has over forty-eight (48) years’ experience in the coal industry.
His coal experience began in 1974 working for a family owned mining company with operations in Maryland. Thrasher held various positions in mine operations and mine management through 1981.
Prior to forming Xcoal Energy & Resources in 2003, Thrasher spent twenty-two (22) years in various global marketing positions at Primary Coal and AMCI.
Xcoal markets U.S. and Australian origin coal to customers throughout the world, Xcoal activities include the financing and development of mining projects and related infrastructure projects.
Thrasher founded XLNG Energy & Resources in 2015, which is marketing LNG originating from global sources with emphasis on natural gas reserves in the Marcellus and Utica Shale basins in the U.S., to customers in South America, Europe, and Asia.
Thrasher serves as a Director on the National Committee on U.S. China Relations, as a Director of the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum, a Global Trustee for the Asia Society, a member of the Global Advisory Council of the Wilson Center, a member of the Global Advisory Board of the Kissinger Institute on China and the U.S., a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on the President’s Leadership Council-Boy Scouts of America.
Farehana Hanapiah is the Senior Vice President of Group Human Resource Management at PETRONAS, a position she has held since January 2020. She received her Bachelor of Commerce and Administration in Accountancy from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2015.
Farehana has over 31 years of experience at PETRONAS, during which she has held various leadership roles in areas such as internal audit, corporate strategy, planning & risk, commercial & joint venture management, and human resource management. She has made significant contributions in streamlining enterprise risk management, strategic portfolio management, and economic evaluation methods for businesses or projects for portfolio optimisation.
At HR, she revamped the learning and development approach, introduced digital learning and enhanced leadership development programmes, and reformed the human capital management operating model to address new business demands derived from PETRONAS’ growth strategy. Environmental Defense Fund president Fred Krupp has guided EDF for three decades, overseeing its growth from a small nonprofit with a budget of $3 million to one of the world’s most influential environmental organization, with an annual budget of more than $250 million and 1000 employees. EDF works across the globe, including in the United States, China, India, Mexico and Europe.
As a leading voice on climate change, energy and corporate sustainability, Krupp appeared on the TED stage in 2018 to announce plans to launch MethaneSAT, a satellite that will measure and map planet-warming methane emissions from the oil and gas industry worldwide. He was also a key advocate for the overhaul of America’s chemical safety laws in 2016 and the passage of historic climate investments in 2022.

Giovanni is Vitol’s Global Head of Research. He has 20 years of research, modelling and analysis experience. Prior to joining Vitol in August 2016, Giovanni was Head of Market Analysis at Noble, at BP and senior analyst at Goldman Sachs. Giovanni started his career as an economist at the Research Department of Italy’s Central Bank and then as a Consultant at the Development Economic Research Group of the World Bank.

Girish Nadkarni retired as the CEO of TotalEnergies Ventures. Prior to that he was the founder and CEO of ABB Technology Ventures.
Girish is considered a thought leader in venture investing and energy transition and is a frequent speaker at VC and industry conferences. Girish has also served as advisor to the WEF and was on the selection committee for the WEF Technology Pioneers for several years. His investment in Hyzon Motors is now a Harvard Business School case study in Climate Finance.
In 2021 Girish, along with Air Liquide led the creation of a €2 billion clean hydrogen infrastructure fund (HY24) to kickstart the global hydrogen ecosystem.

Han Zhang, Ph.D., global sustainability director for Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics, is responsible for collaborating with the entire value chain to promote and improve the sustainability value of plastics. Ichiro Takahara has currently served as Chairman & CEO, Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security, formerly known as Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) since April 2023. Prior to joining JOGMEC, he served as Vice Chairman, Member of the Board of Marubeni Corporation. He also spent a significant part of his career at Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) including Commissioner, Agency for Natural Resources and Energy; Commissioner, Small and Medium Enterprise Agency; and Director General, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Department. Under his direction, JOGMEC has further strengthened its focus on securing natural resources and energy towards a stable and sustainable energy society.
Ingunn Svegården is a Norwegian citizen joining Equinor in 2003 within the Technology and Innovation business area. For several years she has had management position within innovation and corporate venture activities, both within oil and gas and renewable value chains. From 2011-2013 she worked from London within upstream business development activities, before joining the CEO office to support CEO’s in the period from 2013-2015. From 2015 she has been part of the renewable business area, including initiating new venture funds, driving strategy and implementation work before she took on the role as SVP for Emerging Regions in Renewables in 2020. From May 2023 she took on responsibility as Senior Vice President for Equinor’s Renewables footprint across the Asia-Pacific region and as country manager for Singapore, leading Equinor’s work across Singapore, South Korea, Japan, China, India, Australia and Vietnam. Svegården holds a Master of Engineering in Chemistry and Biotechnology from 1998-2003.
Jaime Caballero is the Chief Financial Officer of Ecopetrol (NYSE:EC), the largest company in Colombia and one of the leading integrated energy and infrastructure conglomerates in Latin America. Mr. Caballero’s academic background includes a Law degree from the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), an MBA in Energy Business from the Fundação Getulio Vargas (Brazil), and executive studies in advanced financial management at Duke University and Wharton School of Business (University of Pennsylvania). His trajectory covers more than 20 years in the global energy sector. He has served at the Board of Directors of Cenit, Gases del Caribe, Grupo Invercolsa, Essentia, Interconexión Eléctrica S.A. (ISA), Transmissora Aliança de Energia Elétrica S.A (TAESA) and Rodeo Midland LLC, among others. His experience prior to Ecopetrol includes 17 years at BP plc (FTSE:BP), where he held leadership positions in Colombia, North America, Africa and Europe, most recently as CFO for the Brazil region (encompassing Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia and Venezuela).
Jonathan graduated with an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in England and is also qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Jonathan started his banking career more than 30 years ago in London and has worked in a diverse range of markets including Latin America and the Middle East and has been based in Hong Kong since 1997.
Over the last 8 years Jonathan has led HSBC’s efforts in Sustainable Finance in Asia, assisting clients in the development of sustainability and transition strategies and communicating these to ensure best access to financial markets.

Justin Wu is Co-Head of Climate Change Asia Pacific at HSBC, where he oversees the development, evolution and implementation of the Group’s climate ambition across the region. Karen Westley is Shell’s Vice-President for Carbon and Environment and Downstream Safety, Environment and Asset Management. She has a BS in Human Biology from Stanford University and an MSc from Yale University in Tropical Ecology. She spent her early career working for a large international humanitarian organization: CARE International. She then joined the Shell Foundation in 2001, as part of the start up team, designing and implementing the Foundation’s strategy and managing energy and poverty programmes. She moved to Shell in 2005 and has held a wide range of leadership roles in sustainability, starting in social performance where she was Social Performance Manager and Head of Social Investment then moving to the commercial part of Shell – setting up a team and capability to manage the non- technical risks and opportunities associated with Shell’s Integrated Gas business, and leading the development of innovative value propositions across the gas value chain, including new energies. She then held a role as Global Carbon Solutions Manager for Shell and Global Opportunity Manager for Carbon Capture and Storage, Most recently she was was the Vice-President for Environment where she embedded Respecting Nature as a key pillar of Shell’s strategy. She lives in Kuala Lumpur with her two daughters.
Ms Leo Pui Yong is currently the Chief Sustainability Officer of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) since 1st June 2023. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and Master in Energy & Power System from University Malaya. Ms Leo Pui Yong is previously the Chief Risk Officer of TNB and has served in various engineering and managerial positions throughout her career with TNB. She is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and RIMS Certified Risk Management Professional.
Ms. Maimunah Mohd Sharif of Malaysia is the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). She was appointed by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in 2017, at the level of Under-Secretary-General. She assumed her post in Nairobi, UN-Habitat headquarters, in 2018. In 2022, her term was extended upon the recommendation of the United Nations General Assembly.
Since joining the United Nations, Ms. Sharif has reformed and re-positioned UN-Habitat as a thought leader in sustainable urbanization. She is a vocal advocate for the implementation of the New Urban Agenda to achieve Sustainable Development Goals and the nationally determined contributions to the Climate Action Paris Agreement. She presided over the Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Session of the World Urban Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2018; Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates in 2020; and Katowice, Poland in June 2022, respectively. Ms. Sharif is co-Chair of the Secretary-General’s Task Force on the Future of Cities and co-Chair of the Local 2030 Coalition, designed to support and accelerate local-led delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals. She is an advocate for local voluntary reviews of the New Urban Agenda. From January to December 2019, Maimunah Mohd Sharif was the Acting Director-General of the United Nations Offices in Nairobi. In May 2019, she headed the first United Nations Habitat Assembly in Nairobi, Kenya.
Prior to this appointment, Ms. Sharif was the Mayor of the City Council of Penang Island, Malaysia. In 2011, she became the first woman to be appointed President of the Municipal Council of Seberang Perai in Malaysia. She is also a member of the International Gender Champions, a leadership network launched in 2015 to promote gender equality.
Ms. Sharif began her career as a town planner at the Municipal Council of Penang Island in 1985. In November 2009, as its General Manager, Ms. Sharif established George Town World Heritage Incorporated and managed the George Town World Heritage Site, which was inscribed by UNESCO in July 2008.
Born in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, Ms. Sharif holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Town Planning Studies from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology in the UK and a Master of Science in Planning Studies from the Malaysia Science University. She has received several awards. She is married and has two daughters.
Madelena Mohamed currently heads the Sustainability Unit at Bank Negara Malaysia which oversees the strategic direction and execution of the Bank’s climate change agenda. Since May 2022, she has also been co-chair of the NGFS Task Force on Capacity Building and Training. Between 2018 to July 2022, she was the Director of the Islamic Finance Department that is responsible for the formulation of strategic and prudential policies, as well as assessment of risks for the Malaysian Islamic Banking and Takaful industry. Prior to that, she was the Director of the Prudential Financial Policy Department which oversees the formulation of prudential policies for the Malaysian Banking and Insurance industries. Further, between 2008 to 2016, she headed the Financial Surveillance Department where she was responsible for financial stability surveillance, risk assessment functions as well as formulating macroprudential and financial crisis management policies for the Bank.
She has more than 25 years of experience spanning a broad range of financial stability issues including strategic, microprudential and macrofinancial policy formulation for the Malaysian Banking system. She was the key responsible person for the inaugural Financial Sector Assessment Programme for Malaysia in 2012 and was part of the Bank’s team that was responsible for the formulation of resolution strategies during the Asian Financial Crisis. Besides spearheading the formation of the Bank’s Financial Stability Executive Committee, Madelena was the Acting Chair of the IFSB Technical Committee and has represented the Bank in various external committees such as the Policy Development Group of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, Financial Stability and Technical Committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors and Financial Stability Committee of the Labuan Financial Services Authority. A Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder, she graduated with a BSc Economics degree majoring in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics.
Matthew is based in Hong Kong and joined J. P. Morgan in 2022, in a regional role advancing sustainability in the bank’s financing activities and throughout its operations across Asia Pacific. Prior to joining J. P. Morgan, Matthew lead the Asia Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (ASIFMA)’s Public Policy and Sustainable Finance division, leading advocacy and market development efforts on behalf of 160+ member firms comprising international investment banks, professional services firms and market infrastructure providers operating across Asia Pacific’s capital markets.
Matt’s experience spans financial services, international commerce, technology, strategy, corporate governance, sustainability and environmental engineering. Since 2007, he has worked in business, industry relations and strategy roles at the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and Thomson Reuters. He has also held corporate planning and strategy roles at PepsiCo International and Cadbury Schweppes, and business and policy advisor roles within the Australian Commonwealth Government.

Mazuin Ismail graduated in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom and obtained his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Adelaide, Australia.
Mazuin’s career in PETRONAS began in 1991 as a Structural Engineer, Field Engineer and Company Site Representative for PETRONAS Carigali projects. Over the years, he took on various technical and leadership roles within PETRONAS Group. These include Head of Strategic Planning Petroleum Management Unit, Head of Projects & Engineering PETRONAS Carigali, and Vice President of Technical Global. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Senior Vice President of Project Delivery and Technology.
In 2018, Mazuin spearheaded the establishment of PETRONAS Corporate Venture Capital, managing investment fund to lead the Group effort in driving technology innovation and maintaining a competitive edge to support its core oil and gas business for further growth.

Meng Keong “MK” Lee is the Managing Director in East Asia based in Kuala Lumpur, where he is responsible for the SLB Business in 8 countries: Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Singapore & Cambodia.
MK has over 20 years of experience in various roles with SLB, prior to his current assignment, he was working in London and Dubai being responsible for driving the adoption of Digital Technologies in SLB’s Integrated Performance Management projects globally and to customers in the Middle East and North Africa Region.
He has also held several senior management positions including a Global Transformation Strategy role, VP of Operations and HR Director for Asia Pacific.
MK started with SLB as a production data engineer before moving into various business development and sales management roles in Malaysia, UK, Australia, and France. He has also worked in Norway where he held a Line Management role for Scandinavia Business Unit.
MK earned his Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Computer Science from the University of Hertfordshire in 2000.
Michael O’Dwyer is a Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Energy at Morgan Stanley, one of the leading global Investment Banks, with over 80,000 employees across 41 countries.
Michael joined Morgan Stanley in 2008 and is responsible for leading coverage of a wide range of companies in the natural resources sector, with a focus on supporting clients in the oil & gas and the energy transition areas.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Michael spent over 10 years with Lehman Brothers in the European energy group and before that, five years working with Eni SpA as an engineer in the Exploration & Production division, based in Italy and Norway.
In his investment banking career, Michael has advised on numerous M&A assignments for leading companies in all areas of the resources sector, as well as assisting in raising both debt and equity financing for a wide range of companies globally.
Michael holds degrees in Electronic Engineering and in Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin and a Masters in Business Administration from London Business School.
Milton Catelin is the Secretary General of the International Gas Union, a global gas industry organisation covering over 90% of the global gas market across the full value chain. Milton has a wealth of international energy and policy experience, having previously led the World Coal Association, served in the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the International Energy Agency Industry Advisory Board, the Board Selection Panel of the Global Carbon Capture & Storage Institute, the Governing Board of the Gasification Technologies & Research Council of India, the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Agenda Council on De-Carbonising, and the Advisory Committee to the SaskPower CCS Global Consortium (Canada). Milton has also led Australian climate change and ozone protection negotiation teams. Prior to his international work, Mr. Catelin had a successful career in the Australian government.
Mr. Mohamed Firouz Asnan is currently the Senior Vice President of Malaysia Petroleum Management, the Upstream Business of PETRONAS. He was appointed to this role in June 2019. Firouz is a registered professional engineer and a member of Institution of Engineers, Malaysia
He graduated with a Bachelor in Civil Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and holds a Master of Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Sloan Fellow.
Firouz joined PETRONAS in 1989 as a facilities engineer in the Exploration & Production Division. Throughout the 34 years of his career in PETRONAS, he has progressed through a series of domestic and international assignments spanning both Upstream and Downstream businesses, including stints in the corporate centre.
In his previous role as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy from July 2017 to March 2019, he was instrumental in setting up the New Energy business of PETRONAS as part of the strategy to future-proof the organisation.
Presently, Firouz sits on the boards of several PETRONAS subsidiaries including Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS and PETRONAS LNG Sdn Bhd. He also chairs PETRONAS’ venture capital outfit, PTV International Ventures Ltd. Octávio Simões is an energy industry executive with over 40 years of experience. Currently he is CEO and President of Tellurian. Tellurian is engaged in the exploration, production and sales of natural gas, pipeline development and construction, development and construction of liquefaction terminals, and LNG sales and trading.
Previously, he was President and CEO of Sempra LNG & Midstream, responsible for all LNG and natural gas midstream activities to build and operate LNG regasification terminals, liquefaction facilities, natural gas pipelines and storage projects. He led the company’s efforts at Cameron LNG, Energia Costa Azul LNG and Port Arthur LNG.
Prior to being in the LNG business, he spent 22 years in the power generation sector designing, developing, and building power plants, including nuclear, oil, coal, gas, hydro, and solar. Activities covered various markets in all continents.
Simões has degrees in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and from the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth. He is a registered professional engineer.

Having both buy-side and sell-side experience, Peter carries the benefit of his unique perspective and experience.

Philip was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Loyalty & Travel Solutions (MAG) in January 2023, and double hatting as Group Chief Sustainability Officer of Malaysia Aviation Group. Prior to this, Philip was the CEO of Firefly, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MAG, since January 2019.
Philip joined Malaysia Airlines as Head of Strategy and Network. He is no stranger to the Group, having served in the Turnaround Management Office (TMO) in 2004. Under TMO, he was responsible for implementing the Business Turnaround Plan and, consequently, the Business Transformation Plan. Philip left the airline in 2010 and rejoined Malaysia Airlines in 2015.

Proscovia Nabbanja is the Chief Executive officer of the Uganda National Oil Company. She is responsible for executing the company’s Corporate Strategy and Plans, managing the business aspects of State Participation across the petroleum value chain, including upstream, refining, transportation and storage and identifying new commercially viable investments. She previously served as Chief Operating Officer – Upstream, Uganda National Oil Company. She has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. She started her career as a Geologist with the Ministry of energy and Mineral Development.
She holds a Master of Business Administration from the Imperial College Business School, London, a Master of Science in Petroleum Geoscience from the Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, London and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology and Chemistry from Makerere University.
Razman joined PETRONAS after being called to the Malaysian Bar in 1998 and has since served various functions within PETRONAS. He started in Legal Finance where he was involved in financing of projects followed by a few international postings for Sudan and Iraq operations. He was also the Head, Legal Upstream International in charge of legal affairs of PETRONAS international upstream business until 2017.
Prior to assuming his current position, he served as Senior General Counsel, Legal Upstream from 2017 where he was responsible for the entire legal services for PETRONAS upstream business, both in Malaysia and globally.
He was appointed as Senior Vice President, Group Legal and Group General Counsel in 2021.

As the EVP & CEO of Downstream, Sazali is responsible for the refining, manufacturing, trading, and marketing value chain related to crude oil, petroleum as well as petrochemicals products. This includes the largest retail networks in Malaysia and South Africa under the brand names of PETRONAS and Engen respectively.
Prior to this role, Sazali was the Senior Vice President and MD/CEO of PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG), a listed entity on Bursa Malaysia. Sazali spearheaded PCG from 2014 to 2021 — under his seven-year leadership, the company recorded growth in sales volume by 37% and market capitalisation by 64% in commodity and specialty chemicals from 52 subsidiaries with 24 production plants located in Malaysia, The Netherlands, Canada, Singapore, and Germany. PCG was ranked in the top 10 of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Chemicals Sector (2021).
Sazali began his career in 1990 at PETRONAS’s first refinery (PPTSB) located in Kertih, Terengganu, Malaysia. His first 20 years’ experience covers petroleum refining, petrochemical, technical and engineering services, and project deliveries. His notable achievements include leading megaprojects and plant commercial operations of Kertih Aromatics Complex, as well as PETRONAS second refinery complex expansion in Melaka that includes base oil and COGEN power plants. In 2008, as the Plant Manager at the PETRONAS’s refinery facility in Melaka, Sazali led the team to achieve top quartile plant performance on Solomon Benchmarking. In 2012, he was appointed MD/CEO of the refinery.
Sazali graduated with a BSc. Chemical Engineering from Lamar University, Texas, USA (1989) and is a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). He completed a senior management programme at London Business School (2005) before attending the Advanced Management Programme at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (2014). He is also a member of the International Advisory Panel for the C-THRU research project, providing critical insight and guidance to drive C-THRU’s research ambitions in securing the sustainability of the petrochemical sector.
Sazali sits on the board of PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB), PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad, and the Pengerang Petroleum refinery and petrochemicals companies, namely, PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation Sdn Bhd (PRPC) and PRefChem Sdn Bhd. Sazali was conferred the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka award by Yang Dipertua Negeri Melaka, which carries the title Datuk (2015).
Shamsairi M Ibrahim is the Vice President of LNG Marketing & Trading in PETRONAS. In this role, he oversees the marketing and trading of LNG in Asia, Europe and the Americas on top of energy commodities trading in the UK and Europe.
He started his career in PETRONAS in 1991 as a Marketing Executive in Malaysia LNG Sdn. Bhd. (“MLNG”) and was transferred to Malaysian International Trading Corporation (Japan) Sdn. Bhd. (“MITCO”) in 1999. He returned to MLNG in 2004, where he held multiple positions including roles in marketing and operations in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan markets.
In 2008, Shamsairi ventured in chemical business after seconded to Optimal Group of Companies. His career within petrochemical business was further cemented as he led the Commercial – Olefins & Derivatives Department and later the Marketing and Sales Division for the PETRONAS Chemical Group.
In 2017, he was appointed as the CEO of PETRONAS Chemicals Marketing (Labuan) Ltd. and the Head of Commercial for PETRONAS Chemical Group Berhad, responsible for the Group’s overall commercial excellence. Shamsairi also sits on several Boards within the PETRONAS Group of Companies.

Steven Bartholomeusz is the Head of Public Affairs for Asia Pacific at Neste, and leads all public policy and advocacy efforts in the company’s engagement with governments, public sector organisations, think tanks and other key stakeholders in the region.
He is responsible for working with stakeholders to develop policies related to transport and the circular economy, covering Neste’s Renewable Road Transport, Renewable Aviation and Renewable Polymers and Chemicals businesses. With the need to advance acceptance of a wide feedstock base for biofuels, Steven also supports the Feedstock Growth and Supply teams in the region.

Steven spent 13 years with Shell in corporate communications, public affairs and sustainability roles in Sri Lanka, New Zealand, London and Singapore where he was responsible for communications activities for a downstream project in 11 Asia-Pacific markets. He spent three years with Sarawak Energy helping to set up the company’s sustainability division and leading social and environmental plan developments for large hydropower projects. Prior to joining Neste, Steven was responsible for leading policy and communication activities at Food Industry Asia, an industry association representing over 30 of the world’s largest food companies and has worked closely with the nutrition division of Japanese company, Ajinomoto.

Sushil is a well-recognised industry leader with nearly 30 years of overall experience in the energy and power business, with passion to drive the global transition towards a decarbonized future. Prior to Gentari, Sushil spent over 24 years with Wärtsilä Corporation, a global leader in innovative technologies and lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets. His last position was the President of Wärtsilä Energy, and Executive Vice President and Member of the Board of Management at Wärtsilä Corporation.
Sushil’s expertise and experience in the energy sector span across the globe, with a demonstrated track record of overseeing operations in over 70 countries. He has held other key positions in Wärtsilä Group, including as Vice President for Energy Business (Americas), Vice President for Energy Business (Middle East, Asia, and Australia) and Vice President for Renewables and Energy Storage (Global). Under his leadership, the growth of its Energy Business established Wärtsilä as a top balancing technology provider in grid balancing engine power plants and battery energy storage systems, and eventually securing its position as a key player in the grid scale energy storage market. Wärtsilä decarbonize rapidly, economically, and in a reliable manner.

Mr. Terazawa has been leading the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ), one of the leading energies thinktanks in the world, to present pathways to achieve carbon neutrality as well as to recommend measures to enhance energy security for the governments and industries since he became the Chairman and CEO of IEEJ in July 2021. He has been a very active global speaker in the discussions concerning global climate issues and energy security. Before joining IEEJ, he supported the then Minister Yasutoshi NISHIMURA as the Senior Advisor of the Cabinet Office between January and June 2021 to assist the Government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the formulation of the Growth Strategy including the Japanese “Green New Deal”.

Tetsuo Yamada is Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation. In April 2006, he joined JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation, an upstream division of ENEOS Group, as an Executive Officer and led key development projects in US, Middle East and UK. Today, he oversees the company’s low carbon initiatives as a Chief Strategy Officer. JX Nippon is a pioneer in commercial-scale CCUS project, Petra Nova CCUS project in US, and is now committed to expand its capacities and capabilities in the Asian market.
Thomas is a Senior Advisor at the Alliance to End Plastic Waste. He provides advice to the senior leadership team and heads the Singapore unit to collaborate and support local stakeholders and entities to achieve its mission in Singapore and internationally.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Thomas had a long – standing career in Shell, and had several international assignments across the world including Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, China, Australia, Qatar and Singapore. He has worked in different fields including engineering and technology, project and business development, venture set-up, and global business leadership. After nearly 35 years in Shell, he retired in 2016.
He has also been a Senior Advisor at Economic Development Innovations Singapore. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Nanyang Technological University, part-time lecturing there as well as the Singapore Management University. Tim Gould was appointed the Agency’s Chief Energy Economist in 2021. As Chief Energy Economist, he provides strategic advice on energy economics across a wide range of IEA activities and analysis. Mr Gould is also Head of the Division for Energy Supply and Investment Outlooks, in which capacity he co-leads the World Energy Outlook, the IEA’s flagship publication, and oversees the Agency’s work on investment and finance, including the World Energy Investment report.
Mr Gould joined the IEA in 2008, initially as a specialist on Russian and Caspian energy, and in recent years has designed and directed the World Energy Outlook together with the IEA’s Chief Energy Modeller while contributing to the Outlook as a principal author. Prior to joining the IEA, Mr Gould worked on European and Eurasian energy issues in Brussels and has ten years of experience in Eastern Europe, primarily in Ukraine. He graduated from Oxford University and has a post-graduate diploma from the School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins University.
Tim founded Energy Strat Asia in Singapore in 2019 focussed on supporting specialist services and technology companies in the energy, infrastructure and transportation sectors. His local and international client base includes innovative companies planning on developing and growing their footprint in Asia. For start-ups and scale-ups he supports the development and execution of his clients’ customer and investor propositions and domestic and international development.
He spent over two decades in KPMG in roles establishing and building the Energy & Natural Resources sector practice. Joining in the United Kingdom 25 years ago and transferring to Singapore in 2012 where he launched the KPMG Global Energy Institute for Asia Pacific. From 2000-2009 he was the sector’s global Executive Director under a period of rapid growth; based in London from 2000-2005 and the Middle East from 2005-2012.
He leads relationships with large energy companies interfacing with government, regulators, academia and financial players. He has project experience in strategy, risk, deal advisory and management consulting.

He is a regular participant at the Singapore Energy Summit at the Singapore International Energy Week, hosting the regulatory session in 2019 and the Low Carbon Economy panel session, the Regional Interconnectivity panel in 2021, the Technology Development for Energy Transition panel at the Singapore-IRENA Summit in 2021 and the COP26 and Net Zero commercial opportunities ThinkTank Roundtables in 2020-2022. He chaired the Asian Downstream Summit in 2021 and 2022.
He has moderated the ASEAN Energy Dialogue series with the International Energy Agency’s Executive Director. He is a regular panellist on Diversity & Inclusion roundtables. He has strong interest in Urban infrastructure development and Energy Transition.

Prior to taking on the role of Global CEO at ERM, he served as the Global Leader of DigitalBCG at Boston Consulting Group, Global Practice Area Chair, and a member of BCG’s Executive and Operating Committees.
He was a former BCG Chair of North America, overseeing operations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and was also the global leader of BCG’s Technology Advantage practice.

Tze San joined Esso Singapore in 1992 and has 30+ years of global, commercial and operations experience. She served in various senior executive roles in the Upstream, Downstream and Procurement. After spending >10 years in US and Canada, in late 2019, she relocated to Beijing as President of China Gas Marketing – responsible for ExxonMobil’s fast growing LNG business in China.
In 2020, Tze San was named as one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Oil and Gas by the Diversity and Leadership Conference. She strives to live every day to the fullest. Her faith as a Christian helps her to be grounded.
Tze San holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Nanyang Technological University and Bachelor’s degree from National University of Singapore. She has also attended multiple executive courses at Columbia Business School and Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Among the initiatives he led while there, Uwem oversaw the successful integration of the $32 billion merger between GE Oil & Gas and Baker Hughes. Prior to Baker Hughes, Uwem served as President of Schlumberger Software, where he was responsible for strategic development and commercialization of industry software and services for reservoir characterization, production optimization, and drilling.
Uwem earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and computer science from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria, and a Master of Science in petroleum engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
Vikram Kapur is a Senior Leader in the green energy/decarbonization space and Group President at Renew – one of world’s leading green energy company. Vikram sits on the management board of Renew and reports into the Chairman of Renew.
In his role, he is responsible for building three large global businesses for Renew – Green hydrogen/Ammonia, Carbon Offsets and Digital; Vikram also leads Renew’s foray into International Markets, Leads a team of global green energy technologists with a view to invest in emerging green technologies and is responsible for defining the overall strategy of the company.
Prior to joining Renew, Vikram spent 17 years at Global Management Consulting firm McKinsey & Company. He was a Senior Partner at McKinsey and lead McKinsey’s Energy and Material practice and before that McKinsey’s Infrastructure practice in India. Vikram also chaired McKinsey’s Client committee in India and was part of the Risk and Investment committee at the India office.
Vikram is a Chemical Engineer, completing his degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-Delhi). He is also a MBA, specialized in Finance and Marketing from the prestigious Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, where he was on the Dean’s list.
He splits his time between London, US and Delhi, traveling extensively around the world meeting global leaders in green energy.
Wang Zhangling serves as the Chairman of the Board at COOEC. COOEC is a leading EPCI contractor specializing in offshore oil and gas projects in the Asia-Pacific region.
With a remarkable career spanning over three decades, Mr. Wang has demonstrated exceptional leadership prowess in various capacities. His notable ascent began when he assumed the presidency of COOEC in 2020, accompanied by a well-deserved appointment to the company’s board. Recognizing his outstanding contributions, the Board of Directors further entrusted him with the esteemed position of Chairman in April 2023.
Prior to these pivotal roles, Mr. Wang served as the Deputy General Manager of the Supply Chain Management Department at CNOOC starting from August 2019. In February 2016, he held the influential position of General Manager at the E&C Center of CNOOC Tianjin.

He was recognized as one of Forbes China’s 30 under 30 entrepreneurs in 2013. As a management consultant at the Japan Ability Association Consulting Company, Mr. Xiang served several well-known Japanese multinational enterprises, providing management consulting services such as efficiency improvement and cost reduction. As a co-founder of companies such as Aiken Jeans and Star Waka, he has held positions such as Executive Vice President and COO, responsible for company operations, financing and more.
With StarCharge, he participate in company’s market research and strategy development; draft long-term plans and budgets for the responsible business unit. He also establish the organization and marketing strategies for business unit, execute annual plans. Zafar Samadov is Programme Officer Partnerships at International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). He supports the Agency on the multilateral and bilateral partnerships initiatives Collaborative Framework Enhancing Dialogue on High Shares of Renewables, global Alliance for Industry Decarbonization, and Energy Compacts. Formerly, he worked as a Product Manager Blue Energy at IMDC where he advised large scale offshore wind, floating PV and subsea cable projects across Europe and Asia. Between 2009 and 2015, Mr. Samadov served as Senior Investment Expert at the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels, where he delivered energy market in-depth reviews and advanced regional cooperation integrating renewables in the region of South-East Asia. Prior to it, he worked on energy grid, hydropower, and smart utility projects funded by Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs in the region of Central Asia. Zafar holds a Master in International Management from the University of Leeds and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Osemi.

Mohd Yazid Ja’afar (Yazid) is the President/Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC), an agency of the Ministry of Economy tasked with advancing Malaysia’s Oil and Gas, Services and Equipment (OGSE) industry. He had previously been Deputy CEO of MPRC. He is also the founding Chief Executive of MPRC’s subsidiary Johor Petroleum Development Corporation Berhad (JPDC), the lead coordinator for the development of the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC), where he served for over 9 years until 2021. He remains a member of JPDC’s Board of Directors.
A versatile engineer by training, Yazid has built a progressive career spanning almost 3 decades in the oil & energy industry in the public and private sectors in Malaysia and abroad. He previously served Shell, where he covered sales and marketing, technical support and services, consultancy services as well as manufacturing.
Additionally, he possesses broad-based experience in business restructuring via business unit globalisation, strategic planning, product application/training, technical consultancy and compliance of trade-related controls and regulations.
His experience further includes regional economic development. Prior to joining MPRC, he headed the Economics and Business Division at the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), the regional development authority of Iskandar Malaysia, one of the five regional economic corridors in Malaysia.
Yazid graduated with a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Chemical Engineering from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London. Additionally, he holds a Diploma of Associate of the City and Guilds of London Institute. Dr Maha Hosain Aziz is a professor and author in global risk and future trends at NYU’s MA IR Program, leading the annual global risk prediction project with Wikistrat, the world’s first crowdsourced consultancy; she is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Complex Risk and delivered a talk on climate blindspots at COP27. She has written a trilogy of books including bestseller Future World Order (2019), Global Spring (2023) and 10 Shock Events By 2030 (2024). She also created ten-time award-winning VR/AR political comic The Global Kid (2021) with edtech partner Musemio, drew the seven-time award-winning original (2016) and is working on Evolution (2024) – a comic book about global extremism. She is a Jordanian-born Pakistani who grew up in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe and the US, studying at Brown (BA), Columbia (MA) and LSE (MSc, PhD).
Ts. Syed Saggaf bin Syed Ahmad is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Shapadu Oil and Gas Division, leading and managing the Group’s interest in Oil, Gas and Energy industry for both upstream and downstream services segments including management of group’s marine assets. He is also the Executive Director for one of the Oil and Gas division’s subsidiary, Shapadu CR Asia Sdn Bhd, focusing on downstream maintenance and turnaround works.
He got his early education in English College, Johor Bahru and Sekolah Menengah Sains Muar, Johor. Subsequently, he graduated from Universiti Tenaga Nasional in 2002 with Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (Hons). Upon graduation, he started his career as Mechanical / Piping Engineer with Haven Engineering and continued his career with stints at Ramunia Fabricators Sdn Bhd in 2004, and Coral Intoil Sdn Bhd in 2008.
Syed Saggaf has been with Shapadu Group since 2010, where he started as Project Manager. In his time with Shapadu, he was promoted to Senior Project Manager, General Manager, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, before eventually becomes the Chief Executive Officer in January 2017. He now has approximately 20 years experience in the industry, managing major contracts from key clients with an approximate worth of RM 2 billion.
He is the current President of Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council (MOGSC) where he plays an important role in engagements with industry stakeholders and players with the objective of creating a sustainable energy ecosystem in Malaysia.

Dr Wayne Visser is a globally recognised “pracademic”, poet and “possibilist” on the impact of business on nature and society, with faculty roles at the University of Cambridge and Antwerp Management School. Toto Wolff is Team Principal & CEO of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. He is the managing partner of the team alongside wider responsibilities as Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport.
From humble surroundings in Vienna, Austria, Toto’s first taste of motorsport came when at 17, whilst watching a friend race at the Nürburgring. A short racing career of his own followed, competing in Austrian Formula Ford and scoring a class win at the 1994 Nürburgring 24 Hours.
Toto called time on his racing career just three years later, transferred his competitive ambitions to the business and investment world. After studying at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Toto founded his own investment company, Marchfifteen, in 1998, followed by Marchsixteen in 2004.
Initially focusing on internet and technology companies in the ‘tech boom’ era of the 90s, the business developed strategic investments in medium-size industrial companies and listed companies.
One of these investments included the initial public offering of HWA AG – the company responsible for developing and racing Mercedes-Benz cars for the DTM (German Touring Car Championship), as well as Mercedes-Benz’s successful Formula 3 engine programme. Toto divested his stake in HWA AG in 2015.
In 2002, Toto started a new venture, co-owning a racing driver management company alongside two-time Formula One World Champion Mika Häkkinen. The same year, Toto returned to racing, winning once en route to sixth in the FIA GT World Championship. Further success followed in 2006, when Toto claimed top overall honours at the 24 Hours of Bahrain.
In November 2009, Toto merged his passion for racing and investment by investing in the Williams F1 Team. By July 2012, Toto was the Executive Director of the team, playing a key leadership role as Williams scored its first win in eight years at the Spanish Grand Prix that season.
Less than a year later, after being asked to analyse their Formula One performance by the Daimler AG Board, Toto was appointed Managing Partner of the Mercedes F1 Team and acquired a 30% stake in the Brackley-based team alongside co-shareholder Niki Lauda. At the same time, he assumed the role of Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport, with overall responsibility for the company’s works motorsport programmes, which today include Formula 1 and Formula E. At the end of the 2020 F1 season, it was announced that Toto had increased his stake in the team, with Toto, INEOS and Daimler AG all holding one-third equal shareholding. Under the new structure, it was confirmed Toto will remain in his role as Team Principal and CEO for a further three years.
An entrepreneur, an investor and a racer, motorsport runs in Toto Wolff’s blood. Under his leadership, the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team has clinched eight consecutive Formula One Constructors’ Championships (2014-2021) and seven consecutive Drivers’ Championships (2014-2020).
